For Immediate Release:
Mobile, Ala. – The Gulf Coast Family Center joined a dozen agencies during a check presentation from the Children’s Trust Fund of Alabama Tuesday, February 7, 2023. The group recognized each organization, including the Gulf Coast Family Center, as a 2022-2023 funding recipient, with GCFC receiving $425,000 in grant monies.
“These funds allow us to increase teaching tools for our Family Time Program, which assists parents with new ways of engaging with their children during their supervised visitations,” said Gulf Coast Family Center Executive Director Michon Trent. “The funds will also be used to open an additional custody exchange site within Mobile County.”
This year’s grant is a $20,000 increase over the amount received from the Children’s Trust Fund of Alabama this past fiscal year. Two other programs provided by the Gulf Coast Family Center will also benefit from these funds: the Parenting Network, which offers parenting classes in Mobile and Baldwin County, and the Strengthening Families (fatherhood) program.
